AES Participates in the Great American Shakeout

Thursday, October 15, 2009
In an effort to make sure everyone is well prepared in case of a true disaster, AES participated in the statewide "Great American Shakeout" on Thursday morning at 10:15am.  At the predetermined time, bells sounded alerting all staff and students to duck and cover.  After it was determined that the area was safe to travel, all classes evacuated to the far side of the field and waited while search and rescue teams surveyed their designated areas.  A practice triage area was set up for patients, and teachers were posted in the front parking lot to aid with anticipated traffic control should the emergency have been real.  We are happy to report that the drill went smoothly and you can rest assured that AES is well prepared in the event of a large scale disaster.
